Trimaris Regalia: Crown or Coronet Storage Bags

Description:

A set of two matching bags for storage of Royal Crowns or Royal Coronets. These bags should be large enough to accomodate one Crown each for storage. Once enclosed, the drawstring should be able to close completely so that exposure to air and tarnish is reduced. The length, width, and height of each Crown should be considered. Please contact the Regalia Committee to verify sizes.

Two bags

2 matching drawstring bags (Royal Arms of Trimaris are optional) for storage of Royal Crowns and Coronets.

Materials specifications:

Fabric:

All fabric should be pre-washed and dried to ensure dyes are set and will not run in case of contact with water.
Fabrics should be durable and similar to those used in period. A non-snagging fabric will be prefered for this project.
Cotton (trigger, blends)
Duck
Linen (linen/poly blends)
Silk
Cotton velvet
For other appropriate fabric choices, check with the regalia committee prior to purchasing fabric.

Cotton, cotton/poly, etc

Color specifications:

Colors are chosen to best match the Trimarian arms and should be strictly adhered to when making your fabric selection for uniformity of Trimaris Regalia. Tabards may either be blue with the arms appliquéd, or white with the arms appliquéd.

Construction specifications:

Design: Display of Arms

The Crown storage bags may display the King’s and Queen’s arms respectively
The Coronet storage bags may display the arms of the Prince and Princess
The arms should be appliquéd or embroidered to ensure durability.
The arms should be appliquéd or embroidered to ensure durability.
Painted arms are not accepted as paint has both wash and storage issues.

Sewing:

All design pieces should be embroidered or appliquéd in place, sewn completely with thread around all edges to protect from wear. Due to wear and washing needs, glue is not an acceptable fixative.

Finishing:

Both bags should be lined, or have neatly finished edges. All support seams should be French seamed or surged to reduce snags.

Shape:

One bag shape should be used for both tabards in the set. Tabard sleeves are optional
Tabards should not be sewn up the sides so that they may accommodate individuals of varying size.
Neck openings should have a keyhole shape so that heads of various size can be accommodated without necessitating overly large neck openings

Design specifications:

Images of the Trimarian arms are provided as a design guide and should be strictly adhered to for uniformity of Trimaris Regalia. Images can be found in your Regalia Packet. Please contact the Trimaris Regalia Committee (trimaris.regalia@gmail.com) for digital copies if needed.

Both bags should have a similar ‘look’. (The embroidered or appliquéd arms should have the same placement and be of the same size. Both tabards should have the same body color. Both bags should be made of the same fabrics.)

Size specifications:

Both bags should be large enough in size to accomodate one crown for storage and fully close with a drawstring.

Notes:

5-6 sets of both Crown and Coronet storage bags are desired so that all sets of Crown and Coronets may be properly stored when not in use.

Uniformity:

Uniformity of Royal Regalia is paramount so that all members of the Royal Family and their attendants may be easily identified.
