Office of the Earl Marshal
All combat activities have a safety officer on the field to ensure that activities occur as safely as possible. These marshals watch for safety issues such as broken equipment. All marshals must pass rigid training to be certified to operate on a field. Before fighters can enter their first list, they must be authorized and be sufficiently skilled so that they are not a danger to themselves or others. Such procedures are established to reduce the risk of injury to participants.
The Kingdom Earl Marshal oversees all martial activities within the Kingdom. He also ensures that the Rules of the Lists are followed, oversees all fighting in the Crown Lists, sets/enforces Weapon and Armor Standards and supervises the authorization of fighters with the aide of Deputy Kingdom Marshals, Local Group Marshals, and Marshals-At-Large.
